LCSC Reopens Historic Rendell House for Public Tours

Lloydminster, AB/SK – The Lloydminster Cultural and Science Centre (LCSC) is excited to be reopening the doors to the historic Rendell House.

The grand re-opening of this fantastic historical exhibit will be held in conjunction with Canada 150 celebrations, June 10, 2017 at LCSC. Guided tours of the Rendell House will start at 1:00pm and the day is to be filled with fun activities for the entire family, including bounce houses, bread making, old fashioned games and heritage demonstrations.

“This is a very important exhibit, we are excited to be opening up a portion of the LCSC grounds to showcase the restoration of Rendell House” said Shawna Maurice, Manager, Lloydminster Cultural and Science Centre. “This project could not have happened without the financial and volunteer support of Richard Larsen Barr Colony Foundation and the Barr Colony Heritage Society.”

The Rendell House is an important part of Lloydminster’s history as it was the first wood-framed house. Rendell was constructed in 1903 by Barr Colonists William & Alice Rendell.
