Lloydminster's Off-Leash Dog Park

Located at 41 Street and 47 Avenue (south of the former Lloydminster RCMP Detachment), the off-leash dog park measures 2.9 acres in size and is available for use daily by all dog owners in the community. The off-leash park is a fully fenced green space that includes doggie bags, picnic tables and waste receptacles.

Lloydminster Off-Leash Dog Park – Pilot Project Survey
The Off-Leash Dog Park opened as a pilot project from Tuesday, July 8 to Friday, Oct. 31, 2014, during which time public feedback was collected via the Lloydminster Off-Leash Dog Park – Pilot Project Survey.

A total of 287 residents completed the Lloydminster Off-Leash Dog Park – Pilot Project Survey, sharing positive feedback on the location and accessibility of the fenced park. Survey respondents provided suggestions on features to add to the park which will be taken into consideration when a permanent location is determined for a fenced off-leash dog park.

The Off-leash Dog Park – Pilot Project will continue to be open and available for local users. City Council approved the temporary designation of the green space located at 41 Street and 47 Avenue as an off-leash dog area until a permanent location is determined for the park and/or future development is planned for the parcel of land, during the regular Monday, Oct. 27, 2014 council meeting.

dogsThe City’s unfenced off-leash dog park is located at the  R.H. Brekko Lake at 51 Avenue and 62 Street, and remains available for public use. 

The purpose of an off-leash dog park is to provide an area where well-behaved canines can exercise and play without endangering themselves or disturbing people, property or wildlife.

Members of the community are encouraged to complete the Lloydminster Off-Leash Dog Park – Pilot Project survey. The off-leash dog park will be available to the public as a temporary pilot project until Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014. During this time residents are asked to complete an online survey and share their feedback:
