Curbside collection is the City of Lloydminster's program for collecting recycling, organics and garbage.
Residents receive one green bin to dispose of organic materials and one grey bin to dispose of garbage. Residents are responsible for purchasing blue bags to recycle other materials including cardboard and plastic.
Curbside collection occurs by zones and it happens in your neighbourhood on the same day all year. Not sure what zone you're in? Review the Curbside Collection Zoning Map.

Cart use guidelines
Placement of carts is important! The automated arm on the truck can only operate if it has enough clearance to maneuver. Follow these easy steps to ensure easy collection.
- Have your cart out by 7 a.m. on your collection day
- Place your carts so that the wheels are to the curb (facing forward)
- Do not park in front of carts and blue bags until they have been collected
- Keep your carts one metre (an arm's length) apart so the truck's robotic arm can grab it
- Ensure that the lid is fully closed. Overflowing carts not be emptied
- Extra bags outside the cart will not be picked up (except for blue bags). Loose material will not be collected
- Residents can take excess garbage bags to the Lloydminster Sanitary Landfill free of charge
How to take care of your cart
- Store your cart away from direct sunlight.
- Rinse your organics carts weekly. You can use diluted bleach or a water-vinegar solution to minimize the odour. A small amount of laundry detergent, powdered lime or baking soda layered at the bottom of your cart can also help control odour.
- Bag items inside the kitchen catcher with a biodegradable bag or brown paper bags.
- You may choose to use larger paper biodegradable sacks to line your organics cart, but it is not required.
