The recent restriction lifting and new phases of reopening our city have allowed me to reconnect with more people in person. I genuinely look forward to saying hello while out on a bike ride, catch up over a coffee or cold drink, or even while out on a trip to the grocery store.
These past few months have been challenging for all of us. My schedule changed dramatically in mid-March. Virtual meetings replaced all my in-person meetings and conferences, and many other connections were made using multiple video and audio applications.
During this time, many conference calls occurred with local municipal leaders, others with both of our provincial representatives and leaders and cabinet ministers from both Saskatchewan and Alberta. I have had many opportunities to share the concerns for our city and area.
I've received and responded to many phone calls, notes and letters—some about issues and concerns, others as notes of thanks. Thank you for your interest and involvement in making Lloydminster grow.
These past few months have allowed me to be grateful for the many blessings we have. I miss the privilege of attending events, fundraisers and meetings. I look forward to gathering again in person, with the ability to shake hands and have person-to-person conversations. Make sure you say hello as we cross paths.
To end on a lighter note, an interesting part of this whole process has been watching hair grow, and now as the economy begins to reopen, everyone making a trip to their favourite hairstylist.
