City Manager’s Office
1. Council accepted Administration’s request to continue to be involved with the Vermilion River Regional Alliance (VRRA), with no membership fees being paid.
Office of the City Clerk
1. Administration presented to Council a request made on behalf of a numbered company to have utility charges on their tax account reduced, due to a leak in their privately-owned water system.
The request was first presented at the December 16, 2019, regular Council meeting.
Council denied the request for an adjustment of the unpaid utility charges that were transferred to the Tax Roll.
2. Council resolve that the Mayor provides a letter to Strathcona County supporting their proposed resolution to the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) that urges the Federal Government to:
- work with provinces, municipalities, and indigenous groups to establish a utility corridor that would span from coast to coast; and
- repeal/amend bills C-48 and C-69.
Operations
1. Council approved Administration’s request to renew a three (3) year agreement effective February 1, 2020, to January 31, 2023, with PetroValue Products Canada Inc. to provide fuel at the Lloydminster Airport.
2. Council approved Administration’s 2020 to 2021 Parks and Green Spaces Fees and Rental Rates as outlined in Schedule “A” effective February 1, 2020.
Bylaws
1. Council approved the use of Retail Sales and Esthetics Shop (Spiritual Healing) to be located at 5010 – 46 Street (Lot 25, Block 10, Plan 002 3959) as Discretionary Use within the DC1 – Direct Control Zoning District.
