Lloydminster, AB/SK – The Government of Saskatchewan announced a partial reopening timeline for Part 2 of the fourth phase of the province’s reopening plan.
Beginning Monday, June 29, 2020, libraries, museums, galleries, movie theatres and live theatres will be able to reopen. The guidelines for these businesses and services are included in this week’s update to the Re-Open Saskatchewan plan.
The Saskatchewan government says the reopening dates for the other activities in this part of Phase 4, including indoor pools, indoor rinks, indoor sports and activities, casinos and bingo halls will be announced over the next two weeks.
A timeline for Phase 5, which considers lifting some long-term restrictions such as limits on the size of public gatherings, has not been announced.
Residents must continue to follow necessary personal protective measures to prevent the transmission of COVID-19, including maintaining physical distancing, washing hands frequently, among other hygiene practices.
While Alberta recently announced an end to its province-wide state of public health emergency, Lloydminster remains under a State of Local Emergency until further notice. All previously implemented restrictions and social distancing measures remain in effect for both the City of Lloydminster in its entirety. Per the Lloydminster Charter, the City of Lloydminster is compelled to abide by orders issued under the Saskatchewan Health Act.
