Lloydminster, AB/SK – The Government of Saskatchewan, alongside the Saskatchewan Health Authority, announced the current public health order and health measures are extended until Monday, April 12, 2021. Government officials also announced safe guidelines for the Easter long weekend.
Residents are asked to keep the Easter weekend safe and abide by the public health recommendations and measures that are in place. Consider making any gathering virtual and keep Easter egg hunts to immediate household only.
- Private indoor gatherings must be from two to three consistent households and cannot exceed 10 people.
- To have a consistent household bubble gathering safely, purchase Easter dinner groceries ahead of time with only one member of the household shopping. One person should handle the preparation of food and drink following proper food safety protocols and while wearing a non-medical mask. All served food should be plated by a single person or consider having individual portions delivered from a restaurant or caterer.
- If anyone in the household feels unwell, even with the mildest symptoms, do not continue with plans and seek COVID-19 testing immediately.
- Travel is not recommended in or out of the Regina area unless necessary, and non-essential travel, including interprovincial travel, is strongly discouraged.
- Places of worship must follow the current guidelines, available at Saskatchewan.ca.
Re-open Saskatchewan Plan
Applicable to the City of Lloydminster in its entirety, items within the Re-Open Saskatchewan Plan include:
- Households may create a ‘bubble’ up to a maximum of 10 individuals in a home at any one time. Those within the bubble should be from two to three consistent households, and the gathering cannot exceed 10 people. Joining bubbles is not permitted.
- Outdoor gatherings with up to 10 people are permitted.
- Physical distancing between households must be maintained.
- Direction for:
- licensed establishments;
- sports, fitness and dance;
- places of worship;
- retail spaces; and
- mandatory masking.
- All non-essential interprovincial travel is discouraged.
Mandatory masking and all other existing public health guidelines remain in effect.
Worship Services
The public health measures for worship services allow for up to 30 per cent of capacity or 150 attendees, whichever is less. All existing public health guidance remains in effect.
- Attendees must maintain a two-metre physical distance unless they are part of the same household group.
- All masking protocols remain in place. All attendees and choirs/performers must be masked throughout the service. The clergy may remove their mask while officiating but must maintain three metres physical distance from all other attendees while the mask is removed.
- No food or drink may be served.
- These guidelines do not apply to receptions or non-ceremonial gatherings.
Health officials also remind those who are feeling unwell to stay home and avoid large gatherings.
