Lloydminster, AB/SK – The City of Lloydminster is pleased to announce the launch of the Friends of Lloydminster Place committee, an integrated committee formed by combining the former fundraising and sponsorship committees. The new committee is set to explore all avenues of raising funds for the city's new event facility, Lloydminster Place.
The creation of the Friends of Lloydminster Place Committee and updated terms of reference were approved by Council on Monday, February 27, 2023.
The following community members sit on the committee:
- Dorothy Carson
- Karla Furman
- Nathan Breker
- Nigel Dube
- Riley Fletcher
- Ryan Topley
- Todd Kirkpatrick
Merging the two committees was first proposed in 2022 after months of separate meetings. Members of the two committees recognized the potential for greater productivity and efficiency by working together. This led to the Friends of Lloydminster Place committee, which will now serve as the sole committee responsible for fundraising and sponsorship efforts for the new event facility.
The City of Lloydminster is excited about the potential of the Friends of Lloydminster Place Committee to boost fundraising and sponsorship efforts and raise awareness for the new event facility. The committee will continue to meet regularly to explore new opportunities for fundraising and sponsorship for the Lloydminster Place project.
