Administration Presentation
1. Administration presented an update about the Lloydminster Museum and Archives on its first year of operations in the new facility. The presentation highlighted:
- Statistics
- Review of exhibits displayed throughout 2022 and highlight the importance of creating partnerships and the public perceptions of past and future exhibits.
- Cultural programming
- Showcase user groups and stakeholders
- Highlight new and noticeable trends for the Lloydminster Museum and Archives.
2. Administration presented a draft of Lloydminster’s Social Policy Framework. The Committee accepted the draft as information and directed Administration to bring the item forward to a future Council meeting for a decision. If approved by Council, work will proceed with:
- setting up working groups;
- establishing specific goals;
- building evaluation frameworks; and
- interagency training on collective impact.
Governance and Priorities Matters
1. As part of the City of Lloydminster’s governance documents review process, Administration reviewed and updated the Reserves Policy (No. 134-04) for clarity, consistency and transparency. Administration presented a revised version of the policy to the Committee for review. The proposed changes include:
- grammatical and formatting changes;
- reserves outlined in an appendix;
- verification that the reserves are funded; and
- targeted optimal balances where necessary.
The Committee accepted the proposed changes as information and directed Administration to bring the item forward to a future Council meeting for a decision.
The next Council meeting is scheduled for Monday, December 12, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. via livestream and in person.
