Participants to explore unconscious bias and its manifestiation in familiar settings
Lloydminster, AB/SK – Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) Lloydminster presents a series of groundbreaking training sessions on unconscious bias on June 2, 2023. This session aim to deepen understanding and awareness of unconscious bias in the workplace and provide participants with the tools to foster a more inclusive and equitable work environment.
Unconscious biases are a natural and automatic process in which our brains make quick judgments and assessments based on our background, experiences and cultural influences. Despite best intentions, unconscious bias can influence decision-making, hiring practices and workplace interactions, leading to disparities and exclusion.
"We believe that addressing unconscious bias is vital to building more inclusive and equitable workplaces," says Patrick Lancaster, Manager, Social Programs and Services. "By deepening our understanding of unconscious biases and developing the skills to have challenging yet validating conversations, we can foster environments where diversity is celebrated, and everyone feels valued and respected."
