The Lloydminster Public Library will begin the first phase of its reopening process, joining the Lakeland Library Region libraries in North Battleford, Meadow Lake, and Neilburg to offer non-contact pickup of materials.
Beginning Monday, July 6, 2020, library borrowers can request materials located at the Lloydminster Library by telephone or its online catalogue at https://opals.lloydminster.info.
Once the requested materials are confirmed as available, borrowers will be contacted to schedule a time to pickup the item(s). Items will be available for pickup at the library’s entrance, located on the lower level of the Atrium Centre. Pickup times will be scheduled between 11 a.m. and 4:45 p.m., Monday through Friday.
“The health and safety of the library team and the public is important to us, so we are taking precautions to keep everyone safe,” said Head Librarian Ron Gillies. “Staff will only be able to deal with pick up of materials. We ask anyone returning materials to use the book return located at the main floor south entrance to Atrium Centre. All returned materials will be quarantined for a minimum of 72 hours before they can be made available to other borrowers.”
Materials still out on loan do not have to be returned until August 1, 2020, and no late charges will be made during the no-contact pickup phase. Dates have been automatically adjusted to reflect this change.
As the reopening plan advances, additional hours for pickup will become available, and Library staff will continue to actively work towards a physical reopening of the library over the next weeks.
