To ensure Lloydminster residents have ample opportunity to share their voice, there will be multiple ways to vote in the general election on Wednesday, November 13, 2024.
Voter Registration Form
To help expedite your time in the voter lineup, download and complete the voter registration form ahead of time. All that we ask is that you do not sign the form until you are at the polling station as it needs to be witnessed by election staff.
Voter Eligibility
You can vote once in the City of Lloydminster municipal/school board election if, on election day (November 13, 2024) you:
- are a Canadian Citizen
- are at least 18 years old
- have resided in the Province of Alberta or Province of Saskatchewan for at least six consecutive months immediately preceding election day
and
have resided in the City of Lloydminster for at least three consecutive months immediately preceding election day
or
are the owner of assessable land in the City of Lloydminster for at least three consecutive months immediately preceding election day. - If you live outside of the City limits but are in the school division area, you can vote for a school board trustee only for your school division.
What You Need to Vote
Electorates need to show identification confirming name and address before receiving a ballot. There are three options:
- Driver's Licence. A valid driver's licence, or other government-issued identification, that has name, photo and current address.
- Two pieces of ID. Both must show name and at least one shows current address.
- Proof of identity examples: birth certificate, Canadian passport, Canadian Forces ID, government employee card, social insurance card, student card from a post-secondary institution.
- Proof of identity and address examples: bank statement, property tax assessment, utility invoice, certificate of title.
- Another voter can vouch for you. No ID? An eligible voter (must know each other) may vouch for one voter.
How to Vote
Making it easy to have your voice heard, there are two ways to vote during the byelection.
- In-person during advanced voting.
- In-person on election day.
