The City of Lloydminster Social Programs and Services Department works with local organizations to help connect people to resources, build meaningful partnerships, and provide programs and grants that build resiliency and community capacity.
A large portion of the Social Program and Services Department’s funding comes from the Family and Community Support Services (FCSS). As part of an agreement with the Province of Alberta the City of Lloydminster receives funding which it partially matches to be spent on preventative social programs and services. This 80/20 partnership is calculated based on the Alberta population of Lloydminster but FCSS programs operate freely on both sides of the border.
50 Years of FCSS in Lloydminster! FCSS first started in Lloydminster in 1968 as part of Preventative Social Services in a local partnership with the County of Vermilion River and Town of Vermilion.
