Lloydminster, AB/SK – The City of Lloydminster, in conjunction with ASL Paving Ltd., will begin work on the 2020 Street Improvement Program (SIP) today.
During this phase of the 2020 SIP, the following areas of roadways will see lane restrictions to facilitate the replacement of sections of concrete curb and gutter and sidewalk, patching of failed areas of road and complete asphalt resurfacing.

28 Street/53 Avenue from 56 Avenue to 27 Street
Start date: Tuesday, June 23, 2020, at 7 a.m.

45 Avenue (32 Street to 33 Street)
Start date: Tuesday, June 23, 2020, at 7 a.m. -
36 Street (59 Avenue to 63 Avenue Close)
Start date: Thursday, June 25, 2020, at 7 a.m.
This portion of the 2020 SIP is expected to be completed by Saturday, August 8, 2020, weather permitting and barring any unforeseen circumstances. Detour routes and road closures signs will be clearly marked and installed.
Additional upgrades and repairs in this year’s program include:

12 Street and 75 Avenue: New construction of a westbound right turn lane

59 Avenue trail from 40 Street to 41 Street: Trail improvements
Motorists are reminded to allow extra time for travel, to slow down when driving in construction zones and obey all signs, detours and barriers.
Council approved the 2020 SIP award to ASL Paving Ltd. in the amount of $1,591,435.48, excluding GST, during the Monday, May 25, 2020, Council meeting.
