Lloydminster, AB/SK – Trail enhancements are soon coming to Bud Miller All Seasons Park as a large-scale rehabilitation project is set to begin on Tuesday, September 27, 2022.
The rehabilitation, scheduled to take approximately four weeks, will see the removal and replacement of the existing walking trail from south of the amphitheatre and south of the Bioclean Aquatic Centre surrounding the east and south portions of the Bud Miller All Seasons Park Lake. The stormwater outlet infrastructure near the lake’s southeast corner will also be replaced.
The Bud Miller All Seasons Park lake is a vital link in the City of Lloydminster’s stormwater management system. Replacing the outlet infrastructure will ensure the lake operates as intended and allows City staff to maintain and operate the lake water levels as required.
During construction, the paved trail and gravel service road will be closed, including the southeast entrance near Lakeland College. Parkgoers must follow marked detour routes and avoid entering construction zones. Construction is expected to be completed by the week of October 28, 2022, weather permitting. During construction, parkgoers are invited to explore other trail systems within the park. The city’s trails, including those within Bud Miller All Seasons Park, are available online at Lloydminster.ca/Maps.
Sveer Maintenance of Lloydminster, Alta., was awarded the contract for the trail system redevelopment project during the August 22, 2022, council meeting.
Ongoing maintenance and rehabilitation projects within the community’s trail network allow the City to support enhanced trail usability, safety and trail asset lifespan.
