
On this day 150 years ago, the Parliament of Canada passed the Act that allowed for the creation of the North-West Mounted Police, which later became the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Just one year later in 1874, the March West led Mounties to Alberta which began our history in this beautiful province.
Deputy Commissioner Curtis Zablocki, Commanding Officer of the Alberta RCMP, shared the message below on behalf of the Alberta RCMP as we kickoff our 150th celebrations today and continue to celebrate all summer long:
