Lloydminster, AB/SK – The City of Lloydminster will host a dangerous goods and designated truck route open house on Thursday, October 17, 2019. In efforts to hear resident’s feedback, members of the City’s Engineering department and ISL Engineering will be available.
The open house will be held at Servus Sports Centre (5202 12 Street) from 5 to 8 p.m.
The purpose of the open house is to better understand how organizations and residents transport goods within the municipal boundaries, and how adjustments may better suit their needs while providing safe and efficient options for travel and transportation within the area. The information collected through these events will inform the draft route concepts.
To further facilitate resident and stakeholder involvement in the project, an online survey will be available October 10-24, 2019. To stay up-to-date on the project and to complete the survey, visit yourvoicelloyd.ca/DGR.
Background
In 2015, the Transportation Master Plan identified a need to update the current dangerous good route and designated truck route, 44 Street and 50 Avenue (Highway 16 and Highway 17).
