Lloydminster, AB/SK – The City of Lloydminster has suspended public access to its recreation and culture facilities, and all municipal buildings to further the movement of social distancing as directed by provincial health officials. The temporary suspension of facilities is effective Monday, March 23, 2020, until further notice.
“Out of an abundance of caution, we’re following our provincial, municipal colleagues and following further direction from provincial and federal health professionals,” said Mayor Gerald Aalbers. “Given the unprecedented nature of recent events, we ask for your patience as we work together and persevere through these trying times.”
The temporary closure includes the following buildings:
- Archie Miller Arena
- Bioclean Aquatic Centre
- City Hall
- Centennial Civic Centre
- Lloydminster Cultural & Science Centre
- Lloydminster Golf & Curling Centre
- Lloydminster Operations Centre
- Lloydminster Public Library
- PSM Park Centre
- Russ Robertson Arena
- Servus Sports Centre
The following facilities will remain open to the public:
- Alta-Sask Wellness, located in Servus Sports Centre (5202 12 Street)

How to access the Lloydminster RCMP Detachment services
- Call 780-808-8400 to speak directly with an RCMP employee. If your request requires personal contact with an officer, an employee will meet with you.
- You may be asked to wear a mask while in the detachment.
- If you need officer assistance, and believe you may be ill, please let the officer know.
- Fingerprinting for criminal record checks will only be done in exceptional circumstances. Non-urgent fingerprinting and criminal record checks are unavailable at this time.
- The Operational Communications Centres are open and fully functioning for emergency calls.
- Please only dial 911 in an emergency.
