COVID-19: Grant available for eligible small businesses

Lloydminster, AB/SK – Small businesses may receive up to $500 to help offset financial costs accrued during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Eligible businesses can now apply for the newly developed municipal grant.

Eligibility requirements:

• Provide proof of expense dated March 16, 2020, or later;
• Be a small business (less than 50 employees);
• Located within Lloydminster city limits; and
• Possess a valid business license.

Home-based businesses are not eligible.

Eligible services include, but not limited to:

• Logistics and shipping
• E-commerce and web development
• Marketing and promotion of online presence
• Cyber security

BACKGROUND

City Council approved Administration’s request to reallocate $20,000 from the 2020 Operational Budget for the e-Commerce Grant to assist local businesses in the online transition during the pandemic.
