Lloydminster, AB/SK – The Government of Saskatchewan announced additional dates for permissible businesses and activities under Phase 4, Part 2 of its phased reopening plan.
Beginning Monday, July 6, 2020, indoor pools, indoor rinks, indoor sports and activities, and the performing arts will be permitted to reopen while maintaining physical distancing and other guidelines. Casinos and bingo halls may open on July 9.
Racetracks and rodeo-related activities are targeted to resume on July 16. Guidelines are under development and will include guidance related to spectators.
Additionally, guidelines for food and beverage services were updated.
Businesses and organizations must familiarize themselves with the reopening guidelines and recommendations to ensure the provincial reopening can do so without a significant increase in the transmission of COVID-19.
A timeline for Phase 5, which considers lifting some long-term restrictions such as limits on the size of public gatherings, has not been announced.
Residents must continue to follow necessary personal protective measures to prevent the transmission of COVID-19, including maintaining physical distancing, washing hands frequently, among other hygiene practices.
While Alberta recently announced an end to its province-wide state of public health emergency, Lloydminster remains under a State of Local Emergency until further notice. All previously implemented restrictions and social distancing measures remain in effect for both the City of Lloydminster in its entirety. Per the Lloydminster Charter, the City of Lloydminster is compelled to abide by orders issued under the Saskatchewan Health Act.
