Starting today, City of Lloydminster residents in Saskatchewan and Alberta can resume the summer tradition of yard and garage sales.
On July 21, 2020, the Government of Saskatchewan permitted the summer sales to commence effective immediately with the following guidelines:
- All individuals must observe gathering sizes outlined in the current Public Health Order and ensure that physical distancing can be maintained.
- Additional instructions include heightened sanitation, signage that encourages distancing and advice around payment options. Sales must be held by a single household—group events are not permitted.
Yard and garage sales were considered non-essential in Lloydminster on April 29, 2020,
Guidelines for door-to-door canvassing and sales were also published, along with guideline modifications to drive-in theatres, retail guidelines, fitness facilities and campgrounds.
Residents must continue to follow necessary personal protective measures to prevent the transmission of COVID-19, including maintaining physical distancing, washing hands frequently, among other hygiene practices.
The City of Lloydminster remains under a State of Local Emergency until further notice. All previously implemented restrictions and social distancing measures remain in effect for both the City of Lloydminster in its entirety. Per the Lloydminster Charter, the City of Lloydminster is compelled to abide by orders issued under the Saskatchewan Health Act.
