Lloydminster, AB/SK – With the placement of the asphalt concrete pavement along Highway 16 between 62 Avenue and 75 Avenue well underway, Phase I of the rehabilitation project is starting to draw to a close.
Once the paving and concrete tie-in is complete, crews will paint the permanent pavement markings, tentatively scheduled for August 11, 2021, weather permitting.
Phase I is anticipated to be completed by Sunday, August 15, 2021, with traffic transitioning to the north side of the highway beginning the week of Monday, August 16, 2021, weather permitting.
Once Phase II begins, business access along Highway 16 south will be restricted from the highway for east- and westbound motorists, allowing crews to work in a safe work environment while completing multiple tasks at one time.
