
Lloydminster, AB – On January 23, 2023, at approximately 7:30 a.m., Lloydminster RCMP members were proactively patrolling in the 50 Street and 53 Ave area and located a Jeep Commander with expired registration. The member conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle, which resulted in the driver showing as suspended.
During the traffic stop, members observed drug paraphernalia within plain view, which resulted in all occupants being detained under the Controlled Drug and Substance Act. While searching the vehicle, police located a loaded 12-gauge shotgun with a sawed-off barrel and suspected fentanyl.
As a result of the investigation,
Kacey Dillon (22), a resident of Onion Lake Cree Nation, Sask., has been charged with 15 Criminal Code offences, some of which include:
- Operation of a Motor Vehicle while Impaired
- Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Possession of Prohibited Weapon
- Fail to Comply with Release Order
- Unsafe storage of a firearm
Randy Lecomte (37), a resident of Lloydminster, Sask., has been charged with 16 Criminal Code offences, some of which include:
- Unsafe storage of a firearm
- Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Possession of Prohibited Weapon
- Possession contrary to Order
Diana Muskego (39), a resident of Onion Lake Cree Nation, Sask., has been charged with eight Criminal Code offences, some of which include:
- Unsafe storage of a firearm
- Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Possession of firearm in Motor Vehicle
Dillon, Lecomte and Muskego were all held for a judicial interim release hearing and were released by the courts on conditions to appear in Lloydminster Saskatchewan Provincial Court on February 28, 2023.
