Lloydminster, AB/SK - Lloydminster residents are invited to a series of public engagement sessions to discuss the Downtown Area Revitalization Plan (DARP).
The City of Lloydminster is in the midst of a multi-year downtown rejuvenation effort with the aim of drawing more people and businesses into the area and creating a community destination for retail, dining, entertainment, culture and events.
The City of Lloydminster will also gather resident feedback during the following events:
- September 19, 2018 - Open House from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the Root Bistro
- September 20, 2018 - Border City Farmers Market at Servus Sports Centre from 12 p.m. - 6 p.m.
- September 22, 2018 - Fall Fest at Bud Miller All Seasons Park from 12 p.m. - 4 p.m.
- September 24, 2018 - Pop Up event at City Hall, Council Chambers from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.
- September 25, 2018 - Downtown Farmers Market at the Olive Tree Community Centre from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
- September 27, 2018 - Downtown Area Sip and Savour from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets are available online at lloydminster.ca/sipandsavour.
- September 29, 2018 - Culture Days at LCSC from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“Through these engagement opportunities, we hope to develop a well-rounded view of what qualities are important to residents and businesses in a downtown,” said Mayor Gerald Aalbers. “Gathering feedback is an important first step toward building a downtown that is truly the heart of our city.”
