Lloydminster, AB/SK – Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) Lloydminster is proud to announce the return of a thought-provoking breakfast event aimed at raising awareness about financial abuse and fraud prevention among seniors presented by Synergy Credit Union.
Hosted by the Lloydminster Elder Abuse Prevention committee, the Seniors Food for Thought Breakfast will take place on World Elder Abuse Awareness Day on Thursday, June 15, 2023. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a scrumptious breakfast while gaining valuable insights into protecting themselves from financial exploitation.
The event will feature an engaging presentation delivered by industry experts, shedding light on the signs, risks, and preventative measures related to financial abuse targeting the elderly population. Attendees will be equipped with practical knowledge and strategies to safeguard their finances and combat fraud attempts effectively.

Since its inception in 2019, the Lloydminster Elder Abuse Prevention (LEAP) Committee has continued to raise awareness surrounding elder abuse, prevent future cases, and oversee a coordinated community strategy to prevent and respond to elder abuse in our community.
