Back to SearchLloydminster, AB/SK – The 2018 Servus Family Free Skate will kick off with a launch event at the Servus Sports Centre (SSC) Leisure Ice on Thursday, September 27, 2018 from 4 - 6 p.m. Servus Credit Union staff will be on hand to greet visitors with free mittens and hot chocolate.
“The Servus Family Free Skate has proven to be a popular recreational attraction for our residents and regional visitors,” said Mayor Gerald Aalbers. “We express our shared and sincere gratitude to Servus Credit Union for their continued support of activity, health and wellness in Lloydminster.”
Beginning as a pilot project in 2016, Servus Credit Union has partnered with the City of Lloydminster to provide year-round free access to City ice surfaces through 2019.
“The free-skate program is a perfect fit for Servus Credit Union. We work hard to help shape our members' financial fitness, because we know that when people are financial fit, they build healthier communities,” said Sherry Henderson, District Manager, Servus Credit Union. "Supporting free access for skating encourages physical fitness, but also helps people come together without spending a lot of money. We're looking forward to seeing many Lloydminster youth and families return this year.”
