Current Fundraising Campaign: ParticipACTION Community Better Challenge
Campaign runs from June 1 to 30, 2022
Lloydminster, let's rally to be named Canada's Most Active Community. The 'Community Better Challenge' is awarding $100,000 to the community that accumulates the most active minutes during the challenge. Our plan, if we win, is to use the $100,000 to enhance accessibility at Lloydminster Place, our new event facility!
Throughout the month of June, there are several ways you can get involved:
- Download the ParticipACTION app - From the app, you can track your personal physical activity minutes to help your community win! You also have the chance to win great prizes for yourself when you use the app.
- Community members can also track physical activity minutes for themselves, their families or an organization/group.
- Attend and/or host an event. If you are hosting any events during the month of June that promotes physical activity, or if you're interested in hosting one, please email eventfacility@lloydminster.ca.
- Share this initiative with as many people as you can and Community Better, together!
Now, more than ever, physical activity is needed to help us stay healthy in mind, body, and community spirit. Research shows the COVID-19 pandemic negatively impacted the health of Canadians of all ages, with many moving less and spending more time being sedentary. The Community Better Challenge provides an easy, fun and safe way to get communities moving and socially connecting (either in-person or virtually) through physical activity and sport.
