Unofficial Candidate List
This is the unofficial list of candidates. A candidate may withdraw their nomination by filing a written statement with the Returning Officer. All withdrawals from candidacy have until 24 hours after the close of nominations to submit the written withdrawal. Deadline to withdraw candidacy is 4:00pm October 10, 2024. The Official Candidates listing will be available following the withdrawal period.

When is the 2024 general election nomination period? |
Nomination period for the general election is from Monday, September 30 to Wednesday, October 9, 2024. All nominations must be submitted before 4 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, to be accepted. The nomination package will be available for download or pick up at City Hall once approved. |
Where can I find information about the candidates? |
A list of candidates will available at Lloydminster.ca/candidate-info on Thursday, October 10, 2024. Electorates are strongly encouraged to research the candidates to make their vote an informed vote. |
Do I have to register to vote? |
No, you are not required to register to vote. However, you must present appropriate identification before voting. For more information, visit Lloydminster.ca/how-to-vote. |
How old do I have to be to vote? |
You must be at least 18 years old on election day – Wednesday, November 13, 2024. |
When and where can I vote? |

I am a new Canadian, am I eligible to vote? |
Congratulations on becoming a Canadian citizen. As a new Canadian, you may be eligible to vote in the Lloydminster civic election. Visit Lloydminster.ca/how-to-vote for complete eligibility requirements. |
I own property in Lloydminster, but I don’t live there, can I still vote? |
You do not have to live in Lloydminster to be able to vote. However, you must be the property owner of assessable land in the City of Lloydminster for at least three consecutive months immediately preceding election day. |
I have permanent resident (PR) status in Canada. Can I become a candidate or vote? |
No. The Government of Canada does not allow permanent residents to vote or run for office at any government level. |
I am mobility impaired/out of town on election day. What are my voting options? |
Mail-in ballots will be available upon request. Mail-in ballots are intended for those who will be out of town during the advanced polls and election day, or those with serious medical/physical impairments.
