No. Residential recycling collection schedules will remain the same.
Recycling
Residential recycling is now part of Alberta’s Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) program, which shifts the cost and responsibility for recycling from municipalities to the producers of packaging and paper products.
The program is administered by the non-profit Circular Materials, with Integrated Waste Solutions providing recycling collection on its behalf.
Residents can expect:
- The same collection schedule
- Multiple blue bags will continue to be accepted
- An expanded list of recyclable materials
- A temporary $3.82 monthly rebate on affected utility accounts through December 31, 2026

What happens to garbage and organics collection?
There is no change. Garbage and organics collection will remain the responsibility of the City of Lloydminster and will continue as usual.
Will my curbside collection fee change?
Yes. Residents will no longer be responsible for the municipal cost of residential recycling under EPR.
