40 Avenue road closure begins July 15

Lloydminster, AB/SK—Starting Tuesday, July 15, weather-dependent, 40 Avenue will be closed to traffic between 36 Street and 44 Street to allow for planned roadwork and infrastructure upgrades. The closure will be completed in two phases. Phase 1 will consist of closing between 36 Street and 43 Street, and Phase 2 will consist of closing between 36 Street and 44 Street.

The project includes road widening, including placement of concrete curb and gutter, asphalt repairs, milling and inlay, new pavement markings, and traffic signal installation.

Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and choose alternate routes during the closure period. Signage will be posted to help guide drivers around the construction site, and Business Access signage will be placed to help with wayfinding. The City of Lloydminster appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation while these critical upgrades are completed.
