First 2024 street improvement program contract awarded

Lloydminster, AB/SK – Lloydminster City Council approved the first of three 2024 Street Improvement Program contracts to Knelson Sand & Gravel Ltd., which is expected to break ground in early spring.

Due to the age and condition of the existing infrastructure, each year, the City rehabilitates, maintains and replaces the existing asphalt concrete pavement, concrete curb and gutter, and sidewalks to adequate levels of service for residents and businesses throughout Lloydminster.

Knelson Sand & Gravel Ltd. was awarded the contract to rehabilitate:

  • 29 Street from 54 Avenue to 55 Avenue
  • 55 Avenue from 29 Street to 30 Street
  • 30 Street from 54 Avenue to 55 Avenue

This portion of the 2024 Street Improvement Program is expected to be completed by mid-June. Additional details about the 2024 program will be published online at Lloydminster.ca/SIP once available.

Four bids were received during the tender period for this portion of the project.
