Grand opening of Aurora Community Space set for June 19

Lloydminster, AB/SK — The City of Lloydminster’s Land Division invites residents to celebrate the grand opening of the new Aurora Community Space on Thursday, June 19, 2025. The festivities will begin at 4:30 p.m. at the Aurora Community Space, located at 4114 31 Street.

This event will feature an opportunity to connect with fellow residents through:

• Free community barbecue
• Neighbourhood Block Party/Cenovus Energy Block Party Trailer and games
• Outdoor movie screening of Inside Out 2
• Live DJ entertainment by Maz Entertainment

Residents are encouraged to bring friends and family, lawn chairs, and plenty of community spirit to mark the opening of this new gathering space. All are welcome to attend.

About Aurora Community Space
The Aurora Community Space is a 2,840-square-metre park featuring a large play structure and a 12-feature splash pad. Construction began in spring 2024. Designed as an inclusive and accessible space, it ensures residents of all abilities can enjoy the playground and amenities. The project was funded by the City of Lloydminster’s Land Division, with support from many generous community partners. It reflects the Land Division’s commitment to building premier family neighbourhoods and creating welcoming spaces that foster active living and community inclusion.
