Wheels at Work: Meet the Mighty Machines on August 13

Lloydminster, AB/SK — Get ready for a hands-on experience at Wheels at Work: Meet the Mighty Machines on August 13 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Bud Miller All Seasons Park. This free, family-friendly event will showcase a variety of municipal vehicles from various service areas, offering residents a unique opportunity to explore the machines that keep the city running.

Featured equipment will include (subject to change based on availability):

• Firetruck
• Hydro-Vac/Combo Unit
• Fire Services Rescue Equipment
• Bylaw Enforcement Vehicle
• Street Sweeper
• Specialized Mowers
• RCMP Truck, Trailer, and Quads
• Loader and Blower Unit
• Trackless Snow Plow
• Grader
• Pollution Prevention Vehicle
• Garbage Truck 

Residents will have the chance to tour the cabs of each machine and interact with the operators, gaining insight into how these essential pieces of equipment support municipal operations across various service areas, including fire services, bylaw enforcement, transportation, parks, environmental services, and water distribution/collection.

Each vehicle will be accompanied by an informative display featuring details such as the machine’s lifespan, replacement cost, the services it provides, and interesting facts about its role in municipal operations.

Additionally, residents can visit booths highlighting the City's ongoing efforts in the Street Improvement Plan, Trails and Sidewalk Master Plan, and budget engagement, offering a deeper understanding of how municipal tax dollars are being utilized to shape the future of our community.
