Annual water, sewer replacement program scheduled for spring 2024

Lloydminster, AB/SK – Scheduled to start in spring 2024, the underground services along 42 Street between 47 Avenue and 48 Avenue and 48 Avenue between 41 Street and 42 Street will be replaced during the four-month, weather depending, water and sewer replacement program.

In conjunction with Rusway Construction Ltd, the City of Lloydminster will rehabilitate municipal underground mains and services, including the water, sanitary sewer and storm sewer within the two-block neighbourhood as part of the City’s 2024 Water and Sewer Replacement Program. Additionally, the roadway section will see the reconstruction of the road structure, including the replacement of all curbs and gutters and select sidewalk sections.

During construction, the following intersections will be affected:

• 42 Street at 47 Avenue (closed intermittently throughout project)
• 42 Street at 48 Avenue (closed)
• 48 Avenue at 41 Street (closed intermittently throughout project)
• 48 Avenue at 42 Street (closed)

Additionally, residents will not have driveway access; however, vehicle access will be available via the alley. Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the duration of construction.

Residents must follow marked detour routes and cautiously drive when passing construction crews. Construction is expected to be completed by September 15, 2024, weather permitting.
