City of Lloydminster annual reinspection program begins in May

Lloydminster, AB/SK – The City of Lloydminster will conduct its annual property assessment reinspection program beginning May 2026 and continuing throughout the summer and fall. Residential property inspections will occur in the Wallacefield and College Park neighbourhoods. Non-residential property inspections will take place in Glenn E. Nielson Industrial Park and Sask Industrial.

The City of Lloydminster conducts property inspections on an ongoing basis. The authority for these inspections is granted under Section 294 of the Municipal Government Act ( MGA), which permits assessors to enter properties with reasonable notice for the purpose of carrying out their duties.

Municipal Government Act (MGA) Section 294

  1. After providing reasonable notice to the property owner or occupier, an assessor may:
    (a) Enter and inspect the property,
    (b) Request anything to be produced, and
    (c) Make copies of anything necessary for the inspection.
  2. An assessor must produce identification on request.
  3. An assessor must inform the property owner or occupier of the purpose for collecting information.

These inspections are essential for determining fair and accurate property assessments. Factors such as location, size, condition, and any improvements made will be considered.

City staff will carry identification. If no one is present at the time of the inspection, a card with contact information will be left requesting a callback.
