City seeks public input on future of Lloydminster Regional Archives

Lloydminster, AB/SK – The City of Lloydminster is inviting residents and community members to help shape the future of the Lloydminster Regional Archives through a public survey open until Monday, October 12, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.

The survey is part of a series of public consultation and stakeholder engagement opportunities aimed at developing a sustainable framework for archival services that can support the community for the next 20 years.

The Lloydminster Regional Archives preserves records, stories, and experiences that document the history of Lloydminster and the surrounding region. In 2020, ownership and operations of the Archives were transferred from the Lloydminster and District Centennial Commemorative Association to the City of Lloydminster.

As the collection continues to grow and community needs evolve, the City is exploring how archival services can remain sustainable and accessible into the future.

The survey asks participants about their satisfaction with current services, priorities for future services, how they would like to access archival services, and which services and subject areas should be prioritized. Feedback will help inform the future direction of archival services in Lloydminster.

Residents can complete the survey online at YourVoiceLloyd.ca/Archives. Paper copies are also available at City Hall (4420 50 Ave) and Lloydminster Museum + Archives (4207 44 St). All responses must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on Monday, October 12, 2026.
