Mayor Aalbers re-elected to FCM’s Board of Directors
Lloydminster, AB/SK – Following the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) Annual Conference and Trade Show in Edmonton, Alberta, Mayor Aalbers was reappointed to FCM’s Board of Directors at their Annual General Meeting, ensuring Lloydminster will continue to have a strong voice on the national stage.

The Federation of Canadian Municipalities is the national voice of municipal governments, with over 2,000 members representing more than 90 percent of the Canadian population. FCM's Board of Directors comprises elected municipal officials from all regions and various-sized communities throughout Canada.
As a member of the board, Mayor Aalbers will assist with setting policy priorities based on concerns of municipal governments. Board members meet throughout the year to review and adopt recommendations developed by its standing policy committees on key national issues, including infrastructure, housing, public safety, and climate change.
Board positions are filled through annual elections at FCM’s Annual General Meeting. FCM’s Annual Conference and Trade Show provides our more than 2,000 municipal delegates the opportunity to debate and vote on policy priorities for the year ahead.
