New residents invited to connect at Welcome Home Day

Lloydminster, AB/SK – Newcomers, new residents, and new neighbours are invited to get connected with the community during Welcome Home Day on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Bud Miller All Seasons Park.

Hosted by the City of Lloydminster’s Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) and the Local Immigration Partnership, this free event runs from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. and is open to anyone who has recently moved to Lloydminster or would like to learn more about the community and the services available to residents.

Welcome Home Day will include:

  • A free community barbecue, while supplies last;
  • Games and activities for all ages;
  • Cultural performances; and
  • Community information booths featuring local organizations and service providers through the Local Immigration Partnership.

The event is an extension of FCSS’s Welcome Home Program, a free program designed to help individuals and families settle into life in Lloydminster and connect with the information and resources they need.

The Welcome Home Program aims to introduce new residents to the community. Through introduction to community amenities, services, and opportunities the program features information referral and support on recreational facilities, community supports, household utilities and internet, events and programs, education and child care, transportation, employment, retail and dining, and navigating Lloydminster’s bi-provincial community.
