Planned emergency response exercise at Lloydminster Airport

Lloydminster, AB/SK – The City of Lloydminster will conduct a full-scale emergency response exercise at the Lloydminster Airport on the morning of Thursday, October 8, 2026.

This is a planned exercise. There is no emergency and no action is required from the public.

Residents may see an increased presence of emergency vehicles and personnel in the area, including RCMP, Lloydminster Fire Rescue and emergency medical services. Emergency lights and sirens will be used as part of the exercise.

Drivers should continue to pull to the right and safely stop for emergency vehicles using lights and sirens.

Background

Transport Canada requires the airport to conduct a full-scale emergency exercise every four years. The exercise helps airport staff and emergency responders practice and co-ordinate their response to an airport emergency.
