Pre-orders open for Centennial Civic Centre commemorative book

Lloydminster, AB/SK – Residents can now pre-order a piece of Lloydminster's sporting history as the City of Lloydminster makes print copies of A History of Ice Sports in Lloydminster available for purchase.

The commemorative book honours the legacy of the Centennial Civic Centre (CCC), which served the community for 58 years before closing in December 2025. It preserves decades of local ice sport history, highlighting the athletes, teams, events, and milestones that helped shape Lloydminster's sporting community.

The book is largely comprised of the historical mural that was featured in the Centennial Civic Centre lobby, with additional information documenting local ice sport history through to 2025.

Introduced as part of the City's efforts to commemorate the facility's legacy, the book offers residents an opportunity to revisit cherished memories and preserve a piece of the community's history.

Pre-orders are open until November 24, 2026, at a cost of $33 plus GST per book. Residents can choose to pick up their orders at City Hall once they arrive or have them shipped for an additional $20 per book.

Those interested in previewing the book before purchasing can view or download a digital copy at Lloydminster.ca/CCC. A physical copy is also available for viewing at City Hall.

A limited number of copies will be made available through the Lloydminster Public Library for public borrowing following the completion of the project.
