Water service restored, Drinking Water Advisory in effect
UPDATE – Saturday, May 9, 9:18 a.m. – Water service has been restored to all previously affected areas, with the exception of Cenovus Energy Hub, which will remain closed until further notice.
A Drinking Water Advisory remains in effect for all residents and businesses within the affected areas identified on the advisory map and will remain in place until further notice. During this time, any water intended for consumption must be boiled, including water used for drinking, brushing teeth, washing raw foods, making ice, and other consumption-related purposes.
To boil water safely:
- bring water to a rolling boil
- maintain the rolling boil for at least one minute
- allow the water to cool before use
Residents are also advised to:
- avoid swallowing water while bathing or showering
- consult a physician before contact with the water if they have severe cuts or rashes
- sponge bathe infants and young children
- continue using tap water for laundry
Residents who prefer not to boil water are encouraged to use an alternate safe water source, such as bottled water.
The City will issue a notification once the Drinking Water Advisory has been lifted and the water is confirmed safe for consumption without boiling.
UPDATE – Friday, May 8, 9:14 p.m. – Due to the ongoing water outage, a non-potable water trailer is available at 4090 41 Street for affected resident use.
The trailer and water tank is intended for non-drinking purposes such as toilet flushing. This water is not safe for drinking, food preparation, or oral hygiene.
Residents are asked to bring their own clean containers and use the water responsibly to ensure availability for all affected properties.
Lloydminster, AB/SK – Due to a water main break along 41 Street, water service in the area has been temporarily shut off.
The disruption may affect access to water-related services, including drinking water, washrooms, showers, and other water utilities, at impacted facilities, businesses, and residences in the affected area.
Crews are currently on site working to repair the break as quickly and efficiently as possible.
This is a localized issue affecting only households and businesses within the impacted area.
Residents may experience:
- temporary water service disruptions
- low water pressure
Once service is restored, a drinking water advisory will be in place for the affected area. Additional notices and instructions will be provided to affected residents.
