City of Lloydminster and Vic Juba Community Theatre partner for Cenovus Energy Hub events

Lloydminster, AB/SK – Following City Council’s approval on Monday, September 22, 2025, the City of Lloydminster and Vic Juba Community Theatre (VJCT) have now signed an agreement that will bring concerts and live entertainment to Cenovus Energy Hub starting in 2026.

Cenovus Energy Hub opened to user groups and the public earlier this month, with a grand opening celebration scheduled for Wednesday, October 1, 2025. The newly signed partnership strengthens efforts to activate the facility with large-scale entertainment, further enhancing Lloydminster’s cultural and recreational offerings.

Under the three-year agreement, beginning January 1, 2026, the City and VJCT will:

  • Jointly host up to three concerts annually.
  • Provide $31,000 annually from the City to VJCT for technical administration support, with an additional $23,000 per concert for staffing
  • Share profits, with VJCT receiving 20 per cent of the net profit from any concert that is profitable after the City recovers all direct expenses, including support fees.
  • Establish a working group of City and VJCT staff to oversee event coordination.

The agreement builds on a long-standing operational partnership between the City and VJCT and will position Cenovus Energy Hub to be host to major entertainment events starting in 2026.
