City of Lloydminster earns Canadian Award for Financial Reporting for 2024 Annual Report

Lloydminster, AB/SK – The City of Lloydminster has received the Canadian Award for Financial Reporting (CAnFR) from the International Government Finance Officers Association for its 2024 Annual Report.

The award recognizes excellence in government accounting and financial reporting. This marks the City’s second consecutive CAnFR recognition, following its first award for the 2023 Annual Report, which was also Lloydminster’s first year participating in the program.

“Receiving the Canadian Award for Financial Reporting for a second consecutive year is a very meaningful accomplishment for the City,” said Mayor Gerald Aalbers. “It reflects the care and attention that goes into preparing the Annual Report, which remains an important resource for residents to better understand City priorities, progress, and financial performance. We appreciate Administration’s ongoing commitment to providing clear, accessible information to our entire community.”

The Canadian Award for Financial Reporting program encourages municipal governments across Canada to produce high-quality annual reports that demonstrate transparency, accountability, and clear financial communication.
