City of Lloydminster launches new Seniors Supports Guide

Lloydminster, AB/SK – The City of Lloydminster’s Social Programs and Services department has introduced a new Seniors Supports Guide, designed to help residents aged 65 and older connect with local services and programs.

Launched today at the Seniors Lunch & Learn event, the guide is the latest in the City’s series of community directories. It follows the Lloyd Supports Directory, which provides information about supports for residents of all ages. The Seniors Supports Guide is tailored to the unique needs of older adults and reflects priorities identified in the Lloyd Needs Assessment.

The guide highlights local supports across nine categories:

  • Financial Support
  • Seniors Housing
  • Transportation
  • Access to Health and Services
  • Mental Health
  • Safety and Security
  • Recreation
  • General Services
  • Places of Worship

Printed copies of the guide are available at City Hall (4420 50 Ave), while a digital version can be accessed at Lloydminster.ca/SeniorsSupports.

Community organizations that wish to assist in distributing the guide are encouraged to contact Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) at fcss@lloydminster.ca.

The Seniors Supports Guide was developed in response to feedback from residents and service providers who participated in the Lloyd Needs Assessment, which highlighted the importance of accessible, reliable information for older adults.
