City of Lloydminster outlines licensed taxi operators

Lloydminster, AB/SK – The City of Lloydminster is outlining which taxi companies are licensed to operate within city limits. Residents, including participants in the Seniors Taxi Program, are encouraged to confirm they are booking with authorized providers when arranging transportation.

Taxi companies currently permitted to operate within the City of Lloydminster include:

• Co-op Taxi
• Kings Cabs
• Lloyd Taxi
• Taxi FilCanadian
• Yellow Cabs

The following companies are not permitted to operate within the City of Lloydminster following a recent refusal of a Taxi Broker Application:

• Border Taxi 
• Courtesy Cabs 
• Viper Taxi

Due to non-compliance with municipal, provincial, and federal legislation, the Taxi Broker Application for 2026–2029 has been refused. As a result, these companies are not authorized to operate within the City of Lloydminster or participate in the Seniors Taxi Program.

The City of Lloydminster, through municipal bylaw, provides oversight and approval of the taxi industry within municipal boundaries. This includes approval of taxi operators (drivers), vehicles, and taxi brokers (companies). Criminal record checks, driver abstracts, and general investigations are routinely conducted to ensure compliance with municipal bylaws and to reduce public safety risks to the community.
