First Responders Kickoff to Christmas Food and Toy Drive set for December 6

Lloydminster, AB/SK –  Lloydminster’s first responders are inviting the community to help kick off the Christmas season by supporting a Food and Toy Drive supporting The Salvation Army and The Olive Tree.

On Saturday, December 6, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., residents can stop by Canadian Tire (4104 80 Ave), Walmart (4210 70 Ave), or Real Canadian Superstore (5031 44 St) to drop off non-perishable food items, new unwrapped toys, or monetary donations. Members of the Lloydminster RCMP, Lloydminster Fire Rescue, Municipal Enforcement, Medavie EMS, and WPD Ambulance will be on-site throughout the day to collect donations and engage with the community.

“The holiday season can be especially challenging for many households,” said Constable Melanie Flynn, RCMP School Resource Officer. “This event brings our community together to support two organizations that make an incredible difference for local families.”

“Our first responders are not only dedicated to keeping our community safe, but also to supporting the people who call Lloydminster home,” said Mayor Gerald Aalbers. “I encourage everyone who is able to contribute to this year’s drive. Even a small donation can make the season brighter for a family in need.”
