Property tax payments due by July 25 to avoid incurring penalties

Lloydminster, AB/SK – The City of Lloydminster is reminding all property owners that property tax payments are due on or before Friday, July 25, 2025.

Property owners are encouraged to provide payment prior to July 25 to avoid late penalties.

Anyone who has not received their 2025 tax notice is asked to contact Assessment and Taxation immediately by calling 780-875-6184, Ext. 2124 or emailing taxes@lloydminster.ca to request a copy.

Property tax notices were mailed on Friday, June 6, 2025. The documents were printed on yellow paper for ease of recognition. Tax notices have been sent to all property owners; however, in the event the property taxes are paid by a mortgage company, the yellow slip received by the property owner indicates “paid by mortgage.”

Property taxes provide 24 per cent of the City’s annual operating revenue. The funds will provide policing and protective services, street maintenance, and the operation of parks, recreation, and cultural facilities.

Payment Options

The following methods of payment are accepted:

Payments can be made in person at City Hall (4420 50 Avenue) during regular business hours, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., excluding holidays. After-hours payments can be made via cheque (ensure to include the tax roll number) using the mail slot inside the west entrance. Access to the mail slot is available from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week.

Property owners can also pay property taxes through their financial institutions. Credit cards are not an accepted form of payment for property taxes at City Hall. However, credit card payments may be made through a third-party service provider, PaySimply. Fees from the third-party service provider may apply.

Property tax balance
Property owners can view their property tax information through Virtual City Hall, available online at Lloydminster.ca/VCH. To view the current balance owed, property owners are required to enter their tax roll number or address. Alternatively, property owners can call 780-875-6184 during business hours.

Are you a new Alberta property owner in 2025, and didn’t receive your land title?
Anyone who purchased a property in Lloydminster in 2025 and did not receive a tax notice should contact Assessment and Taxation as soon as possible. Due to a three- to four-month delay at the Alberta Land Titles Office, the City is not receiving ownership change information promptly, which may result in tax notices not being issued to new property owners. The new owner must provide the City with proof of ownership, and the City will provide a copy of the new tax notice.
