UPDATE: Power outage disrupts services across Lloydminster

UPDATE – January 15, 2026 – 5:10 p.m.: Due to the ongoing power outage, Bioclean Aquatic Centre, Russ Robertson Arena, Archie Miller Arena, Servus Sports Centre, and the Lloydminster Golf and Curling Centre will remain closed for the remainder of the evening on Thursday, January 15, 2026.

It is anticipated that facilities will reopen in the morning, pending power restoration.

The City of Lloydminster is aware of a power outage affecting a large portion of the community. Crews are working with the utility provider to assess the situation and restore power as quickly and safely as possible.

As a result, some City facilities are temporarily closed, including Bioclean Aquatic Centre, Servus Sports Centre, Russ Robertson, Archie Miller, and the Lloydminster Golf and Curling Centre.

Traffic safety reminder 

When traffic lights are not active, intersections must be treated as four-way stops. Drivers are asked to proceed with caution and follow all posted rules to help keep everyone safe.
