Lloydminster, AB/SK – The Lloydminster Fire Department received a generous donation of 450 plush teddies from Northern Factory Workwear. The bears will play a crucial role in providing comfort and solace to children affected by traumatic events, including vehicle collisions, house fires and medical emergencies.

Lloydminster, AB/SK – In a bid to foster a sustainable and eco-friendly environment, the City of Lloydminster is stressing the need for the 8,400-plus property owners or occupants enrolled in the curbside collection program to evaluate their compliance with the community’s organic waste disposal requirements. By examining their actions, residents can actively contribute to a greener future and promote a healthier, cleaner community for all.

Lloydminster, AB/SK – The City of Lloydminster and Cenovus Energy today announced the region’s newest event facility will be called the Cenovus Energy Hub. Cenovus’s $5 million contribution towards naming rights, construction and programming demonstrates its continued commitment to Lloydminster and the surrounding area.

One of the services we all depend on and hope we only need once an emergency arises is emergency medical services (EMS). Depending on where you live in the city or around us, you will see trained professionals who answer the call for help. These individuals work for private or public ambulance providers who serve us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Lloydminster, AB/SK - Co-op invests $50K in inclusive playground in Aurora neighbourhood. Since 2018, Lloydminster and area has seen three local projects receive support through the Co-op Community Spaces program, and this year marks the fourth. 

I recently had the pleasure of attending the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) Conference and trade show in Toronto. I was joined by councillors Aaron Buckingham and Jonathan Torresan and around 2,500 elected officials from coast to coast to coast.

Lloydminster, AB/SK – The Lloydminster Fire Department partnered with Holy Rosary High School's Woods 9 class to create cribbing and blocking used in vehicle extrication. The presentation took place at Station No. 1 on Monday, June 5, 2023.

As the sun really starts to shine and we all make our way to a cool spot – perhaps the lake or a pool. Wherever we happen to go, my thoughts turn to water safety. For sure, water brings relief and comfort for some but also fear for others. Often these reactions to water have some basis on whether you learned how to swim. Swimming is an excellent sport and a great opportunity for increasing our health and well-being.

The Public Works team plays a vital role in our everyday lives here in Lloydminster and in all other municipalities. Our team here in the city is comprised of many people, and they care for us in many different roles.
