Businesses and property owners can authorize Police and Peace Officers to act as their representative on their property when they are not present through the Authorized General Enforcement for Nuisances and Trespassing (AGENT) Program.
The AGENT Program is a partnership between the Lloydminster RCMP and City of Lloydminster Municipal Enforcement.
By participating in the program, businesses provide consent for enforcement officers to address trespassing, loitering, and other unlawful activity occurring on their property in accordance with provincial legislation. The program helps businesses address recurring trespassing concerns more efficiently when officers attend a property.
How the AGENT Program Works
When enrolled in the AGENT Program, Police and Peace Officers are authorized to act on behalf of the property owner when addressing nuisance or trespassing issues.
Officers may:
- Issue Notices of Trespass
- Request individuals leave the property
- Issue warnings or charges where appropriate
Notices of Trespass issued under the program remain in effect unless withdrawn.
Who can participate
The AGENT Program may benefit:
- Retail businesses
- Restaurants and bars
- Property managers
- Office buildings
- Commercial properties
- Businesses experiencing ongoing trespassing or loitering concerns
Cost to Participate
Participation in the AGENT Program is voluntary and free of charge.
Program Identification
Businesses enrolled in the AGENT Program will receive an AGENT Program sticker to display at the entrance of their property.
This sticker indicates that RCMP and Municipal Enforcement are authorized to act as the property representative for enforcement purposes.
How to Register
To participate in the AGENT Program, businesses must complete an authorization form.
Once the completed form is submitted to the Lloydminster RCMP Detachment (5106 44 Street), the business will be added to the AGENT Program and provided with an AGENT identification sticker.
